New Delhi, May 1 (IANS) A first-year medical student was found hanging from the ceiling of her hostel room in the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) here Thursday afternoon, the police said. The body of Neha, a 19-year-old from Himachal Pradesh, was found hanging from the fan in her hostel room.
According to MAMC medical superintendent A.K. Agarwal, she had gone missing Wednesday.
The police said Neha’s elder sister, who lives in New Delhi, informed them that she was depressed for the past few days and was interacting less and less with fellow students and others.
“We are probing the case. A foul play cannot be ruled out,” said a police official.
