Medical scam accused sent to CBI custody
January 6th, 2012 - 12:10 am ICT by IANSGhaziabad, Jan 5 (IANS) A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court Thursday sent a suspect in Uttar Pradesh’s multi-crorre rupee National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam to the agency’s custody till Jan 13.
The CBI brought the accused, P.K. Jain, the general manager (project and design) with Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and sought his custody.
CBI spokesman R.K. Gaur said the CBI recovered three kg gold ornaments and Rs. 1.10 crore from Jain’s residence. The CBI submitted that the agency had to recover more vital information and articles from the accused so custody remand be granted to it.
After hearing the arguments, special judge A.K. Singh granted the CBI custody of Jain.
