Measures in place for peace on China border: India
September 29th, 2011 - 10:39 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) India Thursday said it has elaborate mechanisms in place to keep its border with China peaceful and tranquil.
Reacting to media reports that the ministry of external affairs had called the Indian Army “not to challenge Chinese aggression”, ministry spokesperson Vishnu Prakash said there was no commonly delineated line of actual control between the two countries and considering this reality, they have in place those elaborate mechanisms to keep the border peaceful and tranquil.
“As we have said before, there is no commonly delineated Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the border areas between India and China. The two countries have put into place elaborate mechanisms to resolve any situations resulting from this reality,” the spokesperson said.
“Due to these measures, the India-China border areas have been peaceful and tranquil for a number of years,” Prakash said.
