Ghaziabad, April 3 (IANS) A management student, depressed over his impaired vision after an accident, shot his cousin dead before killing himself here Sunday, police said.

Nagendra Sharma, who was pursuing his MBA from a private college, first shot Ravi Shankar in the head and then killed himself at his house in Vishwas Nagar area, said Superintendent of Police (City) J.K. Shahi.

“Nagendra mostly stayed in the first floor room of the house for studying. He suffered an accident on his bike around three months back which had affected his eyesight. Since then, he remained under depression,” he said.

“On Sunday morning, he went to the machine tools factory of his father R.N. Sharma at Hindon Vihar, took out his father’s licensed revolver from the cupboard, returned home and straight went to the first floor room where Ravi Shankar also resided and shot at him. After he collapsed, Nagendra fired at his temple,” he said

On hearing the gunshots, Nagendra’s younger brother Kake rushed to the room and found both of them lying in a pool of blood. Both died on the spot.

Ravi Shankar, who held a diploma in mechanical engineering, had come to stay with his uncle, Nagendra’s father, and assist him in the factory, Shahi said.
