Maudany gets heart check-up, advised further tests
August 27th, 2010 - 8:07 pm ICT by IANSBangalore, Aug 27 (IANS) People’s Democratic Party chief Abdul Nasir Maudany, jailed here for suspected involvement in the 2008 serial blasts here, Friday underwent check-up at a government-run cardiology institute in the city.
The tests showed him to be normal but he has been advised further check-up at a multi-specialty hospital, doctors at the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research said.
Maudany, one of the 32 men chargesheeted for alleged involvement in the serial blasts in Bangalore, is said to be suffering from multiple ailments. He is wheel-chair bound.
The 2008 blasts killed a woman and injured 15 others. Maudany is the 31st accused in the case.
The PDP leader told a magistrate’s court here Thursday that he had not received proper medicare during his police custody.
Maudany was arrested from Anwarssery in Kollam district in Kerala Aug 17 by a Karnataka police team and he was in their custody till Thursday. He is now in judicial custody till Sep 7 and is lodged in Bangalore’s main jail.
While sending Maudany to judicial custody, city magistrate Venkatesh Hulagi directed the jail authorities to provide medical facilities sought by the PDP chief.
