Lucknow, Nov 16 (IANS) A married man’s illicit love affair with a widow went terribly wrong when the woman’s father burnt alive the couple, and the man’s family.The widow, 36, was having an affair with Chunnu Bhurji, both residents of Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Khiri district, about 300 km from here. The woman was often chided by her father Satyawan over this. However, the couple kept meeting.

“Irked by this, Satyawan planned the massacre,” Additional Superintendent of Police D.K. Singh told IANS by telephone.

“Satyawan came to know Saturday night that his daughter had gone to Bhurji’s house and in a fit of rage he attacked his house along with two associates,” he said.

They poured kerosene and set the widow and Bhurji on fire along with the man’s wife, and three children.

“Satyawan’s daughter, Bhurji and his wife, along with his minor son and two minor daughters were set on fire. All of them died by the time people reached there to rescue them,” Singh added.

Satyawan, along with the other two escaped after the incident, but were arrested early Sunday morning.
