Varanasi, May 18 (IANS) The Congress has decided to change the venue for the second day of the party convention here, which party chief Sonia Gandhi would attend, after the marquee collapsed Wednesday evening.
The marquee at Nadesar ground collapsed due to the wind and rain.
“We are looking for the alternative venue. A final decision would be taken by the party’s state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi,” Congress spokesperson Subodh Srivastava told reporters here.
Except the venue, there will no change in the schedule, he added.
After attending the convention, Gandhi will also address a public rally at Beniyabagh, party officials said.
