Markets slip at opening bell

Mumbai, Jan 20 (IANS) Indian equities markets slipped into the red Tuesday morning, with the key index starting trade lower than its closing figure.The Sensex started at 9,159.76 points, lower than its 9,329.57-point close Monday. After about 10 minutes of trading, it had slipped further to 9,132.35 points, 2.11 percent lower than its previous close.

At the same time, the S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was at 2,786.15 points, 2.10 percent lower than its previous close at 2,846.20.
