Markets fall at opening bell

SensexMumbai, Jan 21 (IANS) Indian equities markets fell into negative territory Wednesday, with the key index starting trade lower than its last closing figure.The Sensex started at 8,900.78, points, lower than its 9,100.55-point close Tuesday. After about 10 minutes of trading, it was at 8,956.75 points, 1.58 percent or 143.8 points lower than its previous close.

At the same time, the S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was at 2,751 points, 1.63 percent lower than its previous close of 2,796.6.
