Marijuana seized in Chhattisgarh
August 10th, 2010 - 12:30 am ICT by IANSRaipur, Aug 9 (IANS) Two quintals of marijuana - valued at Rs.600,000 in the international market were seized in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district Monday and two people arrested, a police official said.
District police followed a vehicle and arrested two people near Kondagaon area while one person managed to escape, Mohsin Khan, in-charge Kondagaon police station, told IANS over phone. Kondagaon is some 210 km south of capital Raipur.
He said that interrogation of both the arrested men was on. One of the accused confessed that they loaded the marijuana in Orissa and were to deliver it at Rewa in Madhya Pradesh.
