Maoists, tribal activists torch former Left worker’s house
December 18th, 2009 - 1:02 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kolkata, Dec 17 (IANS) Maoists and their associates People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCAPA) members torched the house of a former Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) worker at West Midnapore district’s Radhanagar area Thursday evening.
Police said a few hundred PCAPA members along with some Maoist rebels took out a huge rally in the area close to the Jhargram town attacked the house of the former CPI-M activist.
They ransacked the house, and then set it on fire after asking the family members to move out.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot from Jharkhand town to contain the blaze.
In a separate incident at Goaltore, suspected Maoists fired at a school head master Udaybhanu Lohar.
The teacher had a close shave as the bullets missed him.
