Maoists torch shop in Orissa
December 29th, 2009 - 3:11 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bhubaneswar, Dec 29 (IANS) Maoists rebels have torched a shop and an auto rickshaw in Raisuan village of Keonjhar district in Orissa, police said Tuesday.
“Maoists torched a shop last night. About 20 armed Maoists had come and torched a shop and an auto,” said Dhruba Charan Puhan, sub divisional police officer of Keonjhar, which is about 230 km from here.
According to police, the ultras torched the shop by pouring petrol after asking the shop owner and his family members to leave. The Maoists have also left some literature, threatening the police and some other individuals of the village.
