Maoists torch mobile tower control room
January 20th, 2010 - 2:58 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Jan 20 (IANS) Armed Maoists Wednesday torched the control room of a private telecom company in Orissa’s Koraput district, police said.
Over a dozen rebels of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) burnt the control room of mobile service provider Airtel at Kaliantal village in Koraput, some 600 km from state capital Bhubaneswar.
“The Maoists have torched a mobile tower control room. We have sent a police team to the spot for further investigation,” police station in-charge Prabhas Dhan told IANS.
