Maoists torch machinery in Odisha
January 4th, 2012 - 10:18 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Jan 4 (IANS) Maoists Wednesday triggered a landmine blast and torched equipment of four mobile phone towers in two districts of Odisha, police said. No injury or loss of life has been reported.
The rebels set fire to battery rooms and equipment of four cell towers in Ganjam district, while they triggered a landmine blast near Srirampur village in Kandhamal district, a police officer told IANS.
The guerrillas also left posters at the sites, saying they were opposed to the anti-Maoist operation in the state.
