Maoists torch construction company vehicles
June 19th, 2010 - 3:14 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, June 19 (IANS) Maoist rebels torched vehicles of a road construction company in Jharkhand’s Chatra district Saturday, police said.
About 20 to 25 Maoist rebels set on fire a road roller and a truck of Mini Construction Company near Bhuiyadih village in the district, some 170 km from Ranchi.
The construction company was involved in road repair work on the National Highway.
“It seems that Maoist rebels torched the machines of the construction company after they were denied levy by the company. We will provide protection to the company to complete the work,” a police officer said.
