Maoists kill three civilians in Chhattisgarh

- Raipur, Oct 30 (IANS) Suspected Maoist guerrillas Friday killed three civilians in a village in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, police said.
“Guerrillas stormed into a village in Kikirpal under Sukma block and butchered three middle-aged people with sharp edged weapons,” S.L. Baghel, additional superintendent of police (Dantewada), told IANS.
The attack site is about 450 km south of the state capital Raipur.
Baghel stated that the deceased included a teacher and a village secretary.
Police have reached the village and will be doing their best to arrest the killers, the officer said.
Since 2004, at least 1,500 people have been killed in the state in Maoist related violence.
