Maoists kill Salwa Judum cadre in Chhattisgarh
September 6th, 2010 - 10:56 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Sep 6 (IANS) Maoists hacked to death a cadre of the civil militia Salwa Judum movement in Chhattisgarh Monday.
The killing was reported from a remote area of violence-hit Dantewada district’s Dornapal locality, some 500 km south of state capital Raipur.
A group of Maoists surrounded a tribal, Punem Sama, linked to the anti-Maoist Salwa Judum, in a forested area and hacked him to death, officials at police headquarters told IANS.
The deceased was staying at a relief camp in Dornapal and had gone to his native village for some work when the Maoists trapped him.
Dornapal is one of the 23 relief camps set up by the Chhattisgarh government in Dantewada and Bijapur districts in restive Bastar region to provide shelter to nearly 50,000 people displaced from their ancestral villages due to fallout of the controversial Salwa Judum launched in June 2005.
