Maoists kill Orissa villager
August 24th, 2010 - 4:33 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Aug 24 (IANS) Maoists killed a villager in Orissa’s Koraput district, suspecting him to be a police informer, police said Tuesday.
A group of about 30 rebels dragged Sikalu Meneka from his house in Tentulipadar village Monday night and killed him. The rebels fled into the forest after leaving his body on a nearby road, a police officer told IANS.
A police team has been sent to the spot after the victim’s wife lodged a complaint, he said.
The killing took place under Narayan Patna police station area, some 500 km from here. The area is considered a Maoist stronghold.
