Ranchi, Jan 31 (IANS) Maoist guerrillas killed four people, set a bus on fire and blasted a water tank and pump of paratroopers in four incidents in Jharkhand, police said Monday.The guerrillas of Jharkhand Liberation Tiger (JLT) raided Hulsu village on the outskirts of Ranchi late Sunday.

Around 10 to 15 JLT Maoists abducted three youths - Alok Sahu, Mahabali Sahu and Bhola Sahu - and later killed them by slitting their throats, said the police.

Police have launched an operation to arrest the rebels involved in the killing.

Maoists also killed quarry owner, Baburam Kisku, in Chitragadia village in Dumka district Sunday night. More than 15 rebels attacked Kisku’s house and shot him dead. They also set on fire two vehicles parked near his house.

In the third incident, the Maoists blasted a water tank, a pump and a generator meant to supply water to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) paratroopers at Jhumra hill in Bokaro district early Monday.

In another attack, the rebels set a bus on fire in Gumla district early Monday. The bus coming from Ambikapur of Chhattsigarh and on way to Ranchi was stopped by the the Maoists near Khatkor village, some 140 km from here.

The passengers were asked to disembark, and the bus was later torched by the guerrillas of the JLT, which is also called People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), police said.

The PLFI had called for a shutdown in five districts of the state Monday.
