Maoists kill businessman in Chhattisgarh
December 17th, 2009 - 1:48 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Raipur, Dec 17 (IANS) Suspected Maoist guerrillas killed a local businessman in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, police said Thursday.
“Rammanohar, a small businessman based in Bijapur district was killed by Maoists with a sharp edged weapon late Wednesday in Bijapur district,” T.J. Longkumer, inspector general of police, told reporters.
Police recovered the disfigured body and his charred motor-cycle from the interiors of Bijapur district, about 500 km south of capital Raipur.
Local police officials said they suspect the businessman was killed because he was allegedly a police informer.
