Maoists kill BJD leader in Orissa
September 25th, 2010 - 10:42 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Sep 25 (IANS) Maoists Saturday killed a leader of Orissa’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Koraput district, police said.
Three rebels came on a motorcycle and shot dead Babuli Panda near his home at Ramgiri village, Superintendent of Police Anup Sahu told IANS.
Panda was the president of the BJD’s Ramgiri block unit, he said.
Koraput district, some 500 km from Bhubaneswar, is considered a Maoist stronghold.
