December 13th, 2011 - 11:04 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Dec 13 (IANS) The outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) Tuesday blew up a higher secondary school building in a Chhattisgarh minister’s village.
The incident took place in Kanker district’s Bodonar village, the native village of Forest Minister Vikram Usendi.
Officers at the police headquarters here said roughly a dozen Maoists stormed into the building in the early hours, set up explosives and then blew the building up. The higher secondary school was opened only last year after years of campaigning by local residents.
Police say that the incident has created panic among the local population. No arrest has been made in the case when last reports came in around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
