Maoists blow up rail track in Orissa(Lead)

Bhubaneswar, July 4 (IANS) Maoists triggered two explosions along a railway track in Orissa’s Sundergarh district early Monday, affecting train services, while two rebels were arrested from a forested area, police said.

The blasts occurred between Rengada and Roxy stations, bordering Jharkhand. The movement of passenger and goods trains was affected on the route, an official at the police headquarters in Cuttack told IANS by telephone.

In a separate incident, two hardcore Maoists were arrested by security forces from a forested area of the mineral-rich district of Keonjhar.

The rebels, Trilochan Mahanta and Laxman, were arrested in Telkoi area during a combing operation by the Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel.

Police said two rifles and a huge quantity of explosives, some Maoist literature and uniforms were seized from the two.

The arrested rebels were operating in Keonjhar and Jajpur district and were involved in several crimes, police added.
