Maoists blow up police station, block office in Bihar
March 27th, 2010 - 9:53 am ICT by IANSPatna, March 27 (IANS) Suspected Maoists blew up a newly-constructed police station and a block office in Bihar’s Rohtas district. They also torched 15 trucks, including eight of a private construction company engaged in road construction, police said Saturday.
More than 100 armed Maoist guerrillas attacked the newly-built police station and a block office at Tilouthu late Friday night and started firing indiscriminately. They later blew up the building using dynamite. No casualties were reported as security forces have not shifted in the building.
“Police have began combing operation against Maoists,” Rohtas Superintendent of Police Vikas Vaibhav told IANS over phone Saturday morning from Sasaram, district headquarters.
Three days ago, Maoists blasted another newly constructed police station in Saran district.
