Maoists blow up bus in Chhattisgarh, many dead
May 17th, 2010 - 7:49 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, May 17 (IANS) Maoist guerrillas blew up a civilian bus in Chhattisgarh Monday, killing up to 50 people, a senior police officer said but another police source claimed only six people were injured.
Special Director General of Police Vijay Raman gave the death toll of nearly 50 to NDTV news channel.
The bus was carrying Special Police Officers when it was blown up by a powerful land mine on the Dantewada-Sukma Road, some 450 km south of state capital Raipur.
