Maoists again blow up rail track in Jharkhand
December 5th, 2011 - 2:26 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Dec 5 (IANS) For the second time in less than 24 hours, Maoists blew up railway tracks in Jharkand while enforcing a two-day shutdown to protest the killing of their leader Kishanji, police said Monday.
According to police, the explosion took place between Nishitpur and Matari railway stations late Sunday. The IED blast was so powerful that it created crater on the track and damaged the electric wire above the track. Repair work is on.
Early Sunday, the rebels had blown up railway tracks at two places in the state.
The shutdown has affected life in many districts of the state, particularly in the rural areas and on national highways as long route buses are not plying. The coal transportation and mining have also been affected.
