Maoists abduct two cops, kill two CPI-M workers
December 20th, 2009 - 6:03 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kolkata, Dec 20 (IANS) Suspected Maoist rebels killed two Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) workers and abducted two policemen in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district Sunday, police said.
The two CPI-M workers - Jyotindranath Mahato and Manik Midha - were abducted with two others by the Left wing ultras from Balodhoba village Saturday night, police said.
Their bodies were found at Lauria village Sunday morning.
The armed rebels also abducted two policemen from Teghoria village Sunday morning.
Police said a landmine, reportedly planted by the ultras, was found on National Highway number 6 in the Kalaboni jungle.
Police said a team of experts has been sent to defuse the landmine.
