Maoists abduct 14 in Bihar
November 1st, 2011 - 2:45 pm ICT by IANSPatna, Nov 1 (IANS) Over three dozen armed Maoists Tuesday abducted 11 labourers and three others from a village in Bihar, police said.
The incident took place in Balthara village in Jamui district, about 200 km from here.
Police said the labourers were engaged in constructing a bridge when they were forcibly taken away.
Police suspect that the Maoists chose to abduct the workers after the company building the bridge refused to pay “protection money” demanded by the rebels.
