Maoist torch three coal trucks
June 15th, 2011 - 1:22 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, June 15 (IANS) Maoist guerrillas set three coal-laden trucks on fire in Jharkhand early Wednesday, police said.
Around 15 to 20 Maoists stopped three coal-laden trucks near Kalyanpur Kata village of Chatra district, around 160 km from Ranchi. The drivers were brutally beaten up by the Maoists, police said. The trucks were later set on fire.
The refusal of coal businessmen to meet the extortion demands of the rebels is said to be reason for the torching of trucks, police said.
