Maoist rebel arrested in Orissa
March 6th, 2010 - 3:34 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, March 6 (IANS) A Maoist rebel was arrested in Orissa’s Malkangiri district during a combing operation Saturday, police said.
“We arrested Deba Padiami during a combing operation in Kalimela forest area,” said Superintendent of Police Anirudh Singh.
He said that Padiami is a member of Bansadhara division of the Maoist outfit and was involved in many Maoist-related incidents, including blowing up of a police station in Podia area of the district.
Malkangiri is more than 600 km from state capital Bhubaneswar.
