December 8th, 2009 - 11:18 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kolkata, Dec 8 (IANS) Security forces have arrested a Maoist leader allegedly involved in the abduction of a police officer and two constables in West Bengal’s Lalgarh.
West Mindapore district Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Verma told IANS Tuesday that Raju Adak, leader of a Maoist action squad, was nabbed from Jirapara under Lalgarh police station Monday night.
Adak is believed to be one of the main players in the Oct 20 abduction of Sankrail police station officer-in-charge Atindranath Dutta in a daring Maoist attack on the police station.
Dutta was released two days later in a swap with some arrested tribal women who were granted bail.
Adak is also suspected to be involved in the kidnapping of two constables - Kanchan Garai and Sabir Ali Mullah - from Brindabanpur camp of West Midnapore district in July, and missing since then.
