Maoist killed in Chhattisgarh
July 1st, 2011 - 12:14 am ICT by IANSRaipur, June 30 (IANS) A Maoist was killed in a gun battle and another arrested in Chhattisgarh Thursday, police said.
The five-hour gunfight took place in Amlipadar jungle in Raipur district, close to Orissa border, where the Maoists killed nine policemen May 23.
Officials at the police headquarters here informed that a Maoist was gunned down and his colleague was arrested by a joint contingent of police and paramilitary troopers.
Police recovered four guns after the gun battle.
