Maoist carrying Rs.5 lakh reward arrested
August 20th, 2010 - 6:36 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Aug 20 (IANS) A top Maoist leader, who carried a reward of Rs.5 lakh, was arrested from a hotel in this Jharkhand capital Friday, police said.
“Alokji alias Ashokji was arrested from a hotel situated near Birsa roundabout. He is special area committee member of Bihar, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh,” a police officer told IANS.
He was arrested along with his associate.
In less than a fortnight, Ashokji is the second Maoist leader who has been arrested from Ranchi city. Early this month, Udayji, who also carried a reward of Rs.5 lakh, was picked up from a flat here.
