Man’s body found inside train in Uttar Pradesh
December 31st, 2010 - 7:24 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Dec 31 (IANS) An unidentified man’s body was found lying under a seat in a train in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh Friday, spreading panic among the passengers, police said. The body of the man, aged around 40 years, was recovered from the general coach of the Amrapali Express.
“The body was first spotted by some passengers a few hours before the train was to reach Kanpur. When the train stopped at the station, the passengers informed us about the body,” Government Railway Police (GRP) inspector Parmanand Mishra told reporters in Kanpur, some 80 km from Lucknow.
“As of now, we cannot ascertain whether it’s a murder or a natural death. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Efforts are also on to identify the body,” he added.
The Amrapali Express was heading to Katihar in Bihar from Amritsar.
