Manali cloudburst toll rises to four (Lead)
July 22nd, 2011 - 10:40 pm ICT by IANSManali, July 22 (IANS) Two more bodies of labourers were recovered Friday, taking to four the toll in the cloudburst that hit Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district Wednesday night.
A search operation is on to trace three workers who went missing.
Sub-divisional Magistrate Balbir Thakur told IANS that one body was recovered on the banks of Beas river in Patlikul, some 30 km downstream from the accident spot. Two bodies were recovered Thursday.
The labourers were involved in constructing the Rohtang road tunnel. Kullu district is prone to cloudbursts.
