Man wanted since 2004 arrested
March 5th, 2011 - 7:59 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 5 (IANS) A criminal involved in murders and robberies in Uttar Pradesh and wanted since 2004 has been arrested here, police said Saturday.
Ateek, who hails from Badaun in Uttar Pradesh, was taken into custody Friday from Mehrauli-Badarpur road in south Delhi. A locally-made pistol was recovered from him.
“He was hiding in Mumbai, evading arrest since 2004,” said a police officia.
Ateek headed a gang involved in highway robberies and murders. His gang would hijack and rob trucks after assaulting, drugging and even murdering its drivers, said the official.
