Man to die for minor’s rape, murder
March 3rd, 2010 - 10:00 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 3 (IANS) A man was sentenced to death by a court here Wednesday for raping and murdering a five-year-old girl in 2007.
Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar awarded the death penalty to Ranjeet of Bihar and fined him Rs.3,000.
The crime dates back to July 3, 2007 when Ranjeet, then aged 25, abducted the girl from his neighbourhood in Gopalpur near Timarpur in north Delhi, raped her and then killed her.
Terming the crime gruesome and brutal, the court said: “No humanistic approach was shown by the accused towards the girl.”
