Man throws girl out of train after failed rape attempt
February 6th, 2012 - 4:43 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Feb 6 (IANS) Police in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district launched a search Monday for a man who threw out a minor girl from a running train after a failed rape attempt.
“The accused has been identified as Ramdayal Kevat, aged 35 years. He knew the 13-year-old girl’s family. Late Sunday, he took her to a train and tried to rape her. He pushed her out when he failed,” officials at the police headquarters said.
The incident took place in a passenger train between Korba and Gevra railway stations.
The girl’s father was reportedly known to the accused. The girl sustained serious injuries on her head and other parts of her body. Local people took her to a hospital where her condition was stated to be stable.
