Man shot dead, servant stabbed in business rivalry

New Delhi, June 27 (IANS) A 48-year-old man was shot dead and his servant was stabbed by his former business partner and an accomplice in northwest Delhi Friday evening over trade rivalry, the police said. Kishan Lal Srivastva was murdered in his Ashok Nagar shop around 4.30 p.m. by his former business partner Rohit and an accomplice, who has not been identified yet.

The police said the assailants’ stabbed Srivastva’s servant Giyassudin, 28, when he tried to nab them. He was admitted to the privately-run D.R. Nursing Home, where his condition was said to be out of danger.

“Rohit and Kishan Lal Srivastva were partners till three-four years ago, but then got separated. Kishan started his own shop of car seat cover close to Rohit’s. Since then tensions were brewing between them,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest Delhi) N.S. Bundela.

“Rohit and his accomplice today (Friday) evening shot Kishan dead and stabbed his servant. We have fanned out teams to arrest them,” he added.
