Man shot dead in Noida health club
March 3rd, 2010 - 12:21 am ICT by IANSNoida, March 2 (IANS) A man was Tuesday shot dead by an unidentified assailant while he was playing cards at a health club in Noida, police said.
Ravendra, a 36-year-old property dealer, was killed around 3 p.m. in Century Health Club of Noida, which adjoins the national capital, an official said. The club falls under the Noida Sector-49 police station.
Ravendra was playing cards with his friends when a man entered the club, took out two pistols from his bag and fired two shots at Ravendra. The assailant then fled the spot, leaving one pistol behind, police said.
Ravendra sustained two gunshot injuries in his chest. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Superintendent of Police (city) Ashok Tripathi said: “The pistol seems unlicensed and prima facie it seems a case of personal enmity. We are looking into all possible angles and trying to nab the criminal.”
