Man promising pilot’s jobs for money arrested
April 5th, 2011 - 10:01 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 5 (IANS) A sacked airline employee has been arrested for duping a man by promising him a pilot’s job in a leading private carrier, police said Tuesday.
“Sagar Bhasin, 32, was held from Panchsheel Enclave in south Delhi Monday,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police H.G.S. Dhaliwal
Bhasin was arrested on a complaint filed by Navneet Bhutani, a resident of Gurggaon’s DLF City Phase II. Bhutani told police that he met Bhasin a month ago at a chemist’s shop in front of AIIMS and the latter introduced himself as pilot in Jet Airways.
“Bhasin then told Bhutani that he had got very good contacts in civil aviation and could arrange a pilot’s job,” said Dhaliwal.
Bhutani mentioned his cousin Ashish, who had got a commercial pilot licence from the US and underwent other courses.
“Bhutani met Bhasin at PVR Saket around 20 days ago and paid Rs.2.30 lakh on the assurance of a pilot’s job. Bhasin Monday demanded a further Rs.2 lakh,” said Dhaliwal.
Suspecting foul play, Bhutani registered a police complaint Monday following which Bhasin was arrested.
Police have recovered Rs. 2.30 lakh and a pistol with some cartridges from him.
During interrogation, Bhasin said he had got a job in Air Sahara Air (now taken over by Jet Airways and renamed JetLite) as a cabin crew member 10 years ago and worked there for six years but he lost his job due to becoming overweight, said Dhaliwal.
