Man poisons family, attempts suicide in Orissa
April 15th, 2011 - 9:09 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, April 15 (IANS) A man Friday attempted suicide after poisoning his wife and six children in Orissa’s Keonjhar district, police said.
While the man survived the suicide attempt, others died on the spot, Superintendent of Police A.K. Singh said.
The bodies were spotted near Katrabeda village on highway number 215, about 110 km from state capital Bhubaneswar, by some passers by.
The six children, three boys and three girls, were aged between three and 17, he said.
The man has confessed to poisoning his family but did not divulge the reason. The man is now unconscious and in a critical condition, the officer said.
