Man objects to cricket on street, pushed from housetop

Agra, July 20 (IANS) A 52-year-old man was allegedly pushed from the roof of his house by a group of people for objecting to their playing cricket on the street in front of his home in Uttar Pradesh, the police said here Sunday. The man died due to the fall. According to the police, a group of people were playing cricket in a street in front of Fazludin’s house in Tajganj area here Sunday morning when a ball hit him.

He rebuked the group and asked them not to play in the street.

The group dispersed and then allegedly returned with some more people to revenge the insult.

The mob allegedly attacked the victim’s family and in the scuffle he was pushed from the roof.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. The police have registered a case and are looking for the accused, who are absconding.
