Man mowed down by Blueline bus in Delhi
September 1st, 2010 - 2:03 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) A 20-year-old, who was on his way to office, was Wednesday run over by the Blueline bus he was trying to board in north Delhi, police said.
The incident took place in the Mall Road area of north Delhi around 9 a.m. when the victim, Sandeep, was trying to step into the bus plying on route number 212 from Nand Nagri to Anand Parbat.
“Sandeep was trying to board the bus when the driver geared up. He lost balance and came under the rear wheels of the bus. He died on the spot. The driver fled the spot,” a police officer said.
Police said Sandeep was on his way to office in Karol Bagh in central Delhi.
Angry over the incident, people in the area damaged the bus and blocked traffic for a brief period.
