August 23rd, 2010 - 3:48 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Aug 23 (IANS) A man killed his 11-year-old son and buried him in his house after the boy refused to join his father as a beggar in a Chhattisgarh village. The man was arrested Monday, police said.
Ashok Nishad, 50, smothered his son Bhola Nishad to death Friday at Thethwarpara village in Dongargarh, some 125 km from here. Ashok was an alcoholic.
“Nishad was forcing his son for a few months to join him for begging so that he could get more cash daily for liquor,” Vishwas Chandrakar, police station chief at Dongargarh, told IANS.
Bhola, who was studying in Class 4, was the only son of Ashok Nishad.
“Nishad has confessed to his crime. He is regretful. He said his son was lovable but he murdered him under the influence of alcohol,” Chandrakar said.
