May 3rd, 2011 - 11:48 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 3 (IANS) A man was killed in the capital while trying to protect his wife from two people who attempted to molest her, police said Tuesday, adding the assailants have been arrested.
Subhash, 40, and Sunil, 32, were arrested near the Saket court complex in south Delhi Monday afternoon over charges of killing Shiv Jai Sharma, a senior police officer said.
“They stabbed Sharma in front of his wife Kalawati April 25 at his house in Moti Nagar in west Delhi. Sharma died during the course of treatment,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Chhaya Sharma said.
According to the official, the suspects told police that they killed Sharma with Kalawati’s consent, which she has denied.
“They were regular visitors at Shivji Sharma’s eatery and used to touch and fondle his wife whenever they got a chance,” the police said.
However, Kalawati had said in her complaint that the two killed her husband when he tried to stop them from molesting her.
