Man killed in another hit and run case in Delhi

New Delhi, March 11 (IANS) In yet another hit-and-run case, a 38-year-old car driver was killed when an unidentified vehicle ran over him in south Delhi, barely two days after a Delhi Police constable was similarly killed in southwest Delhi. Bablu Mandal was riding a motorcycle when a speeding vehicle hit him on a flyover near Indraprashta Apollo Hospital near Sarita Vihar late Monday.

The victim was admitted to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where doctors declared him brought dead.

Mandal was working as a driver with a family and stayed in a rented house in Badarpur area. His family lives in Bihar.

The police said they were investigating and efforts were on to trace the killer vehicle and its driver.

A Delhi Police constable was Sunday killed when a vehicle ran over him in southwest Delhi while he was on his way to the Karol Bagh police station area where he was posted.

The capital has witnessed a series of hit-and-run cases in the past few days.

Two men were killed and one man was critically wounded March 4 when a speeding vehicle hit their motorcycle near the Andrews Gunj flyover in south Delhi.

Kamla Devi, 46, was run over by an unidentified vehicle in south Delhi’s Sewa Nagar area last month.

Two constables, Dheerender and Jayveer Singh, on night patrol were crushed to death last month when a speeding truck hit their motorcycle in Gokulpuri area of northeast Delhi.
