Man jumps off highrise, dies
April 27th, 2011 - 6:38 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 27 (IANS) A 51-year-old man committed suicide by jumping off the 11th floor of Akbar Bhawan, which houses various departments of ministry of external affairs (MEA), in the Chankyapuri area of the capital Wednesday, police said.
Dinesh Pandey, who was working as messenger in the MEA, jumped off the building around 1.30 p.m. He died on the spot.
“He was in depression and was undergoing treatment. He hails from Uttarakhand and was living in Netaji Nagar area (of south Delhi),” a police officer told IANS.
Police said they have not recovered any suicide note.
In a similar incident, a 58-year-old man had committed suicide by jumping from the 7th floor of a building Tuesday.
