Man held with fake currency notes
May 9th, 2010 - 5:20 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, May 9 (IANS) A man has been arrested from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhattarpur district with 74 fake currency notes of Rs.100 denomination, police said Sunday.
“Javed, who has a shop at Chhatarpur bus stand, was nabbed late Saturday. A total of 74 fake currency notes each of Rs.100 denomination have been recovered from his possession,” Chhattarpur police officer Sameer Yadav told IANS.
This is the second such case in the state in the past one week.
The Crime Branch had Tuesday arrested Shahwar Khan alias Sheru in Bhopal with fake currency notes with a face value of Rs.1.15 lakh.
“On leads provided by Sheru, two others - Sajid and Gajraj Singh - have been arrested from Ashta town. A printer, papers and other material used for printing fake currency have been recovered from a printing press owned by Gajraj Singh,” Bhopal Superintendent of Police Yogesh Chaudhary said.
