Man held for robbing train passengers, patients
May 21st, 2011 - 10:44 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 21 (IANS) A man was arrested for allegedly robbing people in trains and hospitals after offering them beverages and eatables laced with sedatives, Delhi Police said Saturday.
“Raju Jain, along with his associates, used to target army personnel and passengers, at railway stations and patients admitted in hospitals,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Chhaya Sharma.
The police arrested Jain from Safdarjung Hospital Thursday.
During interrogation, Jain revealed the he would befriend strangers and gain their confidence. He would offer them eatables and beverages mixed with drugs and sedatives.
“As soon as the victim fell unconscious, he would rob them of their cash and valuables,” the officer said.
